“…A “no-fun-marriage,” makes for a “no-fun spiritual life…”

Image result for caricature of a biblical character having funFUN TIME: Having fun on the job? Is life a “barrel of FUN?” A sour-puss environment at the work place makes for a bad situation at home. A “no-fun-marriage,” makes for a “no-fun spiritual life.” There is nothing wrong with enjoying your job, your co-workers, or laughing at each other’s occasional silliness. In fact…it should be a “good thing.”

We are told in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 – For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep,   and a time to LAUGH; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing…

There is little doubt that God…through His Son…Jesus Christ, wants us to have fun in our earthly journey…to have an enjoyable life. If nothing else…he gave us the seventh day…for rest, relaxation, and enjoyment. Jesus Himself attended many banquets, and enjoyed His role…as the Son of a living God….just as King David, and even Paul…had fun days.

1 Timothy 6:17 – “Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.”

As a Christian, one can enjoy life because their conscious is clear. They can enjoy life because they are secure within God’s love. They can have fun…even laughing in church (of all things). Even God gave Adam a companion….so that he could enjoy her company, and have fun doing so.

With all this said…then…have F-U-N. …Blessings…cjlb… 8/30/16
