There are some of us do our utmost to up-grade our own standing, by down-grading that of another. Most successful people, typically, don’t feel need, or inclination, to belittle those of a lesser standing; be it wealth, social status, or intellect. Rather, most successful people will EMPOWER those around them, incidental to their being co-workers, employees, friends, family, or neighbors.
Instead of judging; they offer their assistance. Rather than criticizing; they listen instead of talking so much themselves. Successful people develop a cast of followers who will seek out their advice and opinion, and who will offer their help without you having to ask for it.
Some of us develop a “critical spirit,” which is an obsessive attitude of criticism and fault-finding, and whose only purpose is to tear others down — which is not the same thing as what is sometimes referred to as “constructive criticism.” True constructive criticism is expressed in LOVE, by those whose only purpose is to “build up,” not to tear down — and is always expressed face-to-face, never behind one’s back.
The person with a critical spirit enjoys dwelling on the negative; looking for flaws rather than goodness. They complain a lot, and always seem to be upset. They, too often, have little control over their tongue, their temper, and are well known for gossip and slander, rather than promoting the good found in others; which Paul tells us are sins “worthy of death,” as shown in Romans 1:29-32 – Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Being a RESPONSIBLE-LEADER is not just leading a company to great success; but also, leading others to be their individual best in all areas of their lives. …Blessings…. Cjlb… 4/20/15.
