Determination: For me…I am a very determined individual. No…is not in my vocabulary. Many moon ago…at about age 14, I walked up to the front door of the Governor’s Mansion, asking to speak to the Governor. The Butler said “he’s busy,” but I said… “I’ll only take a few minutes”… the Governor came out to see what the commotion was about… and said. “Son, give me a call in the morning, and I’ll talk to you,”….giving me his phone number. In those days…they didn’t have any guards at the gate, nor any…anywhere, that I could see. I’m not sure if his Butler and his Chauffer, were not one and the same. The next morning, I called him, and he gave me an “interview” over the phone; and didn’t seem to be a bit in a rush. I’ll save “that story for another day.”
One of my Grand-daughters, is…well, very much like me, in that… she is a “very determined” young lady. Seemingly, she lacks boundaries… as they say. Watching her grow up…exercising her determination, has been, for me, a delightful experience. She is on her way to being a ‘very accomplished’ young lady.
Being “determined” is a necessary ingredient to success… no matter what your goals may be…rather, it’s career endeavors, marital relationships, social climbing…or spiritual needs. You won’t be in the ‘win column’ unless you’re very determined. Determination is another form, or extension, of… “Commitment.” A weakened determination will be reflected in all avenues of our life ….personal, professional, family, or spiritual.
Psalms 27:14 Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD! Proverbs 20:13 Love not sleep, lest you come to poverty; open your eyes, and you will have plenty of bread. Luke 9:62 – Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.” Romans 12:11 – Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.
A Word of C-A-U-T-I-O-N…even, satan is full of… DETERMINATION ! …Blessings…cjlb… 2/9/17
