“…almost all companies; state and federal governments….discriminate against people based on their age….”

Setting parameters of a plan of action, and then failing to meet those criteria, does not mean that you or the deal have failed, rather, it means that the parameters and the deal were not a “good match.”  We often set goals that simply cannot be met.  You’re fresh out of college, and you’ve set a minimum of $50K that you will want as a starting salary for your first job.  And, after 6 months of pursuit…you’ve not found “the job.”  Does that mean you’re a failure?  No… it’s means, either that they’re no positions available in your range, or you have set the criteria too high.  Simply lower your criteria until the job market and your salary match.  No failure involved.  Same theory in setting a Sales Budget.  Maybe you’ve set an unattainable goal.  Re-evaluate your budget; determine and examine your shortfalls, and refine the budget to fit reality.  No failure involved.  I know a fellow who has been turned down for employment over 400 times in the last 4 years; is he a failure…NO.  His problem is two-fold…he’s 73, and almost all companies; state and federal governments; discriminate against people based on their age.  It’s a fact, no matter how much they deny it.  Does that mean he’s a failure?  No, but he should accept two things; 1) he’s too old, and 2) regardless of the fact that it’s against the law, 99% of the businesses, and government, are guilty of age discrimination.  One of the core attributes of a leader is “to know how” to set budgets, plan and execute POA’s, and to set the various criteria necessary to run their enterprise successfully.  If “the leader” is not capable of doing that…. then YES, he could be considered a failure.  As in any sport, or business venture…practice makes perfect.  Remember this: God does not discriminate against us.  Though Christ died on the cross for our sins, so that we might have life everlasting…. we are still sinners, and fail to meet the criteria that God sets for us.  What makes us a “match” for His criteria is simply: To believe, and trust, that Jesus is our Lord and Savior, to obey His commandments, to confess our sins, to repent of our sins, and amend our lives through daily conversion.  The process of CHANGING OURSELVES to meet the criteria that God has set for us, removes the possibility of failure.  John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.  John 14:6  – Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.  Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith.  And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.  Romans 10:9 Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  …Blessings…cjlb…5/1/14
