Life by Design. For a long time, now, I’ve used the acronym… POA, standing for Plan-Of-Action; which describes what one would do over a period of time, in the process of working on a specific project. The POA would have specific details covering every issue of the plan, along with a detailed schedule of events.
Life by Design, would be, then…LBD. I use this term to describe what one would do throughout their life… to achieve a certain goal. This could be a short-term, or a long-term goal. Or, it could be a “series of goals,” when combined…would equate to a longer, broader one.
Such a LBD could be one involving one’s education plan, or a marriage plan, or one involving one’s career. For some… it might even involve their “religious or spiritual” life. One might even plan their “entire life” in this manner.
One might set a LBD as soon as they graduate from high school, or college. Such a plan might involve the “more worldly” aspects of education, family, and career. Others might be more directed to the “life that God” might expect from us.
One could decide, for example, to NEVER consume “sweets,” or alcohol, or drugs, or engage in certain activities that represent satan, rather than God. People can PLAN to be spiritually fulfilled, or spiritually DEAD.
LBD does not suggest that we have sole and complete CONTROL, but rather… shared control. This would mean that “our journey” in life, would include ourselves, and God, working as a TEAM. Because we are made in “God’s Image,” we also have “free-will,” or CHOICE. We can make the CHOICE to be the “big boss,” or choose God… instead, to fill that position. We can choose to HUMBLE ourselves to work in conjunction with God. We can do this by staying in CONSTANT communication with Him. This would be called PRAYER.
Call all of this “folly,” if you wish. But, I KNOW for a FACT that “it works,” because I’ve tried “very hard” to INCLUDE God in my “journey through life” and it’s PAID OFF handsomely for me…. And my family. God KNOWS who is “on His side,” and who is NOT. Remember that He has a “plan for each of us.” We are told in 100 different verses that God has a plan for us. One in particular is found in….Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
So, if God has a plan for us… why cannot we build our own plan in conjunction with His? We are told in Proverbs 1:3 – Commit your work to the Lord, and then you plans will SUCCEED. How CLEAR is that?
Stayed Tune for more on LBD….blessings…cjlb…….12/17/15
