Where do you fit in? Are you lofty, gentle and kind, arrogant, narcissi, over-whelming, rude, loving, narrow-minded, cowardly, prayerful, spiteful, charitable, conceited, humble, or hateful and demeaning? Somewhere, in this narrative… you fit well, and are comfortable. Somehow, though, we must combine some of these characteristics, in such a way, as to serve our fellow-man. We are told… Galatians 5:13-14– For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” This is the “root” of our job on earth…. To serve others. We have this responsibility in EVERY ASPECT of our daily life. Whether we are at work, building our careers; or at play…developing a healthy family and social life; or at our place of Worship; we have this obligation to serve others. We can help our co-worker, or company, achieve their goals. Or, we can teach our children and friends good sporting habits; and we can develop life-long friendships through healthy social habits. And we can better our relationship with Our Lord God, Jesus Christ, by presenting the foresaid as an offering to Him, who created all of mankind. So, my suggestion, and message, for today…is, how can we go about doing what were pre-disposed to do? Look about you… who do you work with that could use your help in improving their life? Who do you fish or golf with, or attend sporting events with, that you could help… if not in a specific and direct manner, then by setting an example of service to others? Who do you encounter at the grocery store, the athletic club, or the theater… or church, that you could have a positive influence on; or that you could have a “spiritual influence?” People everywhere, need help. Help comes in many forms, not always money, but often, just a kind word… or a smile. Think about it; we all have a unique, God-given-Gift, that can be shared, passed along, or given to…someone. Examine yourself…and determine…your GIFT. Dear Lord, help us, to help each other… to go about your Business, so that we might be an Instrument of Your Peace. ….Blessings…cjlb…7/27/14.
