A popular whiskey known as Maker’s Mark, is so named to emphasize that it is the best, hence…The Mark. Question: What is your Mark? Too often, we fall into complacency… assigning our self the title: The Mark. Or, we get to the point in our lives, as Leaders, enjoying so much success, that… we now consider ourselves as The Mark…The Mark that all others should measure themselves by. We get to the point where we think that everyone else wants to be just like us. Any Leader, who thinks of himself as being “The Mark,” is also a FOOL. That is to say… he is MARKED as a FOOL. The title: The Mark… can only be assigned, to someone… by those who follow that person. It is not a ‘self-imposed’ title. If the followers, as a group… feel that ‘this person,’ or leader is deserving of being identified as “The Mark”… of excellence, of a great leader, or one who all would like to emulate… then it is the ‘followers’ who assign the title of ‘The Mark.’
Former President Ronald Reagan, many believe, was given that type of title, and deservingly…as both the ‘right and the left’ often refer to him in glowing terms… as to leadership, and persuasion. Ditto Mr. Lincoln.
Then, and the most important MARK… is the ONE that Jesus Christ, through His Father God, gives to each of us ‘the sign,’… or the MARK of God. And as always…. We have the choice of opting for, instead… the ‘Mark of the beast’….as in, satan. Each of us, can… should we choose… carry ourselves such… that the ‘Mark of God’ is clearly evident.
We are told in John 6:27…Jesus Christ bore the seal of God: “On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.” Those who trust in Jesus also possess the seal of God, which is the Holy Spirit: In Ephesians 1:13-14, it says…“You also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession.”
We…. that would be you… and me… are secure in knowing that all of God’s children are sealed, secure, and sustained, while still in the midst of the worldly wickedness; because when we believe… then we carry the MARK of Jesus Christ on our soul, and in our hearts.
