The IDEA of being BOSS: Just about everyone would like to be some time in their lives. I KNOW that I have. I went from a low-end boss after about 5 years into my career… to a mid-line-boss to a senior boss for another 20 years more. I’ve never found being Boss to be very difficult. I was destined, it seems to be a boss.
I wore, and still do to some extent the ‘boss hat’ very well. It was not, however, until I became owner/boss that I was really able to spread-my-wings. The owner/boss has the ultimate responsibility of funding the company in which he owns. Those ‘other bosses’ can get pretty comfortable spending someone else’s money while learning to be a boss. The BUCK STOPS with the owner/boss.
With all that said… to be a Boss… that leads, governs, motivates, invigorates, instigates, delegates, stay primed, changes for the good, looks for ways to save good people instead of ways to fire someone… one who loves hiring, a good thinker, good idea man, profit motivated, good at balancing the skill sets of others, etc. …. now all of that is hard to do. That is when it gets COMPLICATED. Are you a BOSS? Do you REALLY want to be a BOSS? Do you have the guts that it takes to be a SUCCESSFUL BOSS?
I’ve ALWAYS considered that GOD was the CEO of any company that I ever owned. I REPORTED to GOD! I admit, too… I YIELDED to the boss at home, as well. In fact… don’t EVER underestimate the valuable input that a smart spouse can have on the career and future of a boss. Back to my POINT. I place God ahead of all my decisions. What does He want me to do? What is the RIGHT thing to do? What is the BEST for all the REST concerned?
I consider myself to be a keeper of the funds in which God has ‘entrusted me with.’ God has given me so many talents to handle for HIM. My talents are His talents. God has only loaned those talents to me ….those SPECIAL GIFTS. I KNOW, because I’ve been guilty of miss-using His TALENTS and have PAID the price for putting “His GIFTS” for my own ‘wordly-gain’…. instead of ‘glorifying’ HIM.
We all have different gifts, according to the grace given us by the Holy Spirit. As told to us in Romans 12:5-8 – If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.
It does not matter whether we have been given great talents, abilities and wealth, or very little. What matters to God is whether we make good use of what we have been given, whether large or small.
We are reminded in Luke 12:48 – From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from the one to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded.
Many Blessings as we seek the ‘Will of God’ in our journey to be with Him… the One who died on the cross, for each of us… So that, we might have ˜life-ever-lasting’ …in the PRESENSE of Our Lord, God, Jesus Christ …cjlb… 5/21/2017
