Clump of Coal or Diamond in the Rough….both made by The Lord God. We can aspire to be the Diamond, or be satisfied as a Clump of Coal. A diamond cannot become a diamond without first being a clump of coal. Are you a diamond, or a clump of goal? Choices….discernment.
So it is in the business world. We can be the Leader or the Follower, both made by God. They’re both the nucleus of the other…one cannot be a Leader if he has no followers….a follower cannot be a follower if there is no Leader. One cannot function without the other; nor can one be successful without the other. Whichever we are…we’re important links; one unto the other.
Abraham Lincoln said: “Whatever you are…be a good one.” So…. if you are destined to be a “clump of coal,” then be the very best clump of coal that there is. And, if you are destined to be a Diamond in the Rough, then be the BEST.
So it is with our relationship with God. Colossians 3:23-24 – Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
It makes no difference if it is our career…. Our marriage, our community or social standing… it is our DUTY to be the best we can be. God “expects us to do our best,” and he expects us to do what He has planned for us… as told to us in…Jeremiah 29:11– For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Ephesians 5:17 – Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
