Image result for caricature of a man making a detailed presentationI am a “goal setting oriented person.” I like setting goals. I keep meticulous records of what I want to do; how I go about doing it; the time frame; and the COMPLETED goal. It’s a good idea to have, at least, “generalized goals.” This would equate to: I’d like to go to college. I’d like to marry a girl who thinks the same as I do. I’d like to have a career in International Banking. I’d like to live until about 90 years of age. I want to know without doubt that I am SAVED. These are all “generalized goals,” which LACK SPECIFIC DETAIL and PLANNING.

Having goals of this nature, will, if you’re lucky, give you a “general sense of accomplishment.” In other words… you’re going somewhere, but nowhere fast, and you don’t know when you’ll get there. It lacks DETAIL. My suggestion is to lay out, specifically, what I call POA… Plan-Of-ACTION. Generalized goals would be likened to an architect’s “rendering” of a building; whereas a POA would be likened to a “complete set of plans” from which the building could be constructed.

What is your POA? Or, do you have anything likened to a POA? Backing up a bit… the idea of “wanting to go to college,” while a lofty goal; just having it on a LIST, doesn’t get you there; same with marriage, and career goals. Plan ahead, EXACTLY, what the CRITERIA is of each goal. When and where to start, the budgeted cost, the proposed completion date, the materials needed, the associated vendors or assistants, etc. All of this MUST be planned out in great detail. This would apply to marriage, career, and even… living to an old age.

If you want to live long, then, plan a proper, and LIFE-LONG diet. Research EXACTLY what type foods, exercise, and life-style, that would assure a longer and more healthy life. One cannot wait to age 60 to decide they want to live to age 90. Like “anything” in life… it will take PRECISE PLANNING. This is true in one’s SPIRITUAL life, as well.

Life is a process of LEARNING. Life is a JOURNEY of many ups and downs… many advertsaies; hardships, gains, loses, successes, and failures… all a learning process. So it is with our Spiritual Life. The more that we PREPARE ourselves; the more we PLAN; the more we STUDY; the more we COMMUNICATE with God… the more apt we are to SUCCEED in having “life-ever-lasting” with The Lord God, Jesus Christ.

While Jesus did die on the Cross for the SINS of all of mankind… the Blood of Jesus… is just the beginning of the process. It’s the beginning of the DETAILS. Each of us, has a “play” in this process. We MUST BELIEVE that Jesus died, so that we might LIVE. We must CONFESS, REPENT, and ATTONE for our sins. We must CONVERT from “not so good,” to being “very good.” We must have a POA.

Get familiar with the BIBLE. For an example…PLAN on reading the bible on a daily basis. Evaluate the DETAILS of your life. Determine the CORRECTIVE ACTION. And, ASSOCIATE with the type of people, the type of life-style, and the type of circumstances that LEND themselves, both yourself, and to the successful completion of your SPIRITUAL GOAL. We are told in Luke 10:25-28 And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?” And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” And he said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.” Also, in John 14:6 – Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

So, my friends…. STOP, THINK, LISTEN…and PLAN, in detail, your GOALS of SALVATION…. Blessings…cjlb…4/25/15.
