How do we find meaning in life? Life, too often, gets to be monotonous? I KNOW that it has for me… more often than I care to admit. It is my contention that we don’t always find satisfaction in life until we start serving others… to give… rather than serving one’s own interest.
I’m going to cut to the quick on this…if one has not find genuine meaning, and joy… in life, but…find it to be a bore…then that chap is not a HAPPY camper. If we’ve not found happiness, and joy, then we are mentally, emotionally, and spiritually STAGNANT! Of course, I claim no professional status in this field; but I can say without reservation… that HAPPY PEOPLE have meaning, purpose, joy, good (or better) health, and are spiritually stable. They are emotionally…well balanced…servants, of God, and to others.
Is such “meaning and purpose” closely aligned with what God would prefer for us? Most of us are probably going in the right direction… in terms of “meaning,” but…how about… in terms of purpose; I’d venture to say that if you’ve actually found purpose in your life; then ask yourself… is “that purpose” aligned with the will of God.
We are told in Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Be patient…wait on God.
BTW: If all else fails in obtaining happiness in this worldly life, in the normal manner, then one could purchase some “instant happiness” at their local Target store, off the “gift card” rack; in increments of $25; but remember: You get what you pay for.
Blessings …cjlb… 5/6/16.
