“…Being a fat-slob puts one at risk of breaking the 6th Commandment…. “

Several weeks ago, my Bride and I, started attending a 4-week, “plant-based” diet seminar.  This diet plan was introduced to us by a retired medical doctor, and his wife, through a local Church.  While I don’t think that I look it (as people tell me), according to the ratios of height and weight, etc….I am considered OBESE by the medical community.  On February 5th, just one month ago, I weighed 215.8 lbs.  I carry my weight well, so I don’t look like I weigh that much, which BTW, this weight is my life-time high.  I weighed 160 lbs. when I married…some 55 years ago.  This morning, my naked weight was 203.6 lbs.  I’ve been cutting back on the sweets, breads, carbs, etc., in preparation for this “plant-based” diet, and, in-so-doing, I’ve lost 12 lbs. since February 5th.  I’m excited about the prospects of losing weight, maybe about 30 lbs.; but I’m more excited about the effect that it may have on my health and well-being.  Some experts suggest that it’s never too late to eat properly….and, I’m for that.  I’d like to live another 20 years, at least, so eating properly is going to be absolutely necessary to my AGENDA … wouldn’t’ you think?  After all, being healthy affects every phase of our life; family, work related issues, social …and most of all, we should remember that our bodies are the “Temple of the Holy Spirit,” as we are made in the image of God.  Being a fat-slob puts one at risk of breaking the 6th Commandment…. Thou shalt not kill.  1 Corinthians 6:19-20 – Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God
in your body.
