Jesus said to his disciples: “There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars, and on earth nations will be in dismay, perplexed by the roaring of the sea and the waves. People will die of fright in anticipation of what is coming upon the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. But when these signs begin to happen, stand erect and raise your heads because your redemption is at hand.
“Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy from carousing and drunkenness and the anxieties of daily life, and that day catch you by surprise like a trap. For that day will assault everyone who lives on the face of the earth. Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man.” The Gospel of the Lord
This passage is a pretty “over-whelming” scripture, describing the coming of Jesus Christ, the Son of Man, and the Holy Spirt. So overwhelming, in fact, that it would leave very little doubt as to “His coming.” There is all kinds of speculation as to “when” this GREAT EVENT might actually take place… but there is very little doubt that it will happen. So, how does one prepare for such an “overwhelming event,” as the 2nd Coming of Jesus Christ, and not know exactly “when” it is to take place?
The second coming of Christ, and the rapture, is getting closer with each passing day. The Holy Spirit is holding back the wrath until the last soul to be saved is added to the Kingdom. Luke 21:35-36 – tells us…clearly…. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.”
The answer is simple….prayer. Matthew 21:21-22 tells us…And Jesus answered and said to them, “Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it will happen. “And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”
