QUALIFICATIONS for LEADERSHIP and SUCCESS: There has always been a zest for more and better education, and I am high among the proponents. I don’t question the need for as much of, and as good of, education one can obtain. The question I raise is: Can one succeed without all the formalities of a good education? I say yes, one can. Sure, a college degree will open doors for those who hold them. But history tells us that some of the most renowned entertainers, scientist, politicians, and entrepreneurs have found success despite not having higher education status. Some successful people who did not attend, or complete college were: George Washington, Abe Lincoln, Michael Dell, Bill Gates, Tiger Woods, Frank Sinatra, Thomas Edison, the Wright Brothers, John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie (US Steel), Walt Disney, Ernest Hemingway, Dave Thomas (Wendy’s), Michael J. Fox, and Gov. James Byrnes, who was a former Secretary of State, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, US Congressman, US Senator, and Governor (the good governor DID NOT, even, attend high-school). And, the most well known, yet least educated, was Jesus Christ, who had no servants, yet they
called Him Master. He had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher; no medicines,
yet they called Him Healer; no army, yet kings feared Him. He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet was crucified. He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today. Amen.….Blessings…cjlb…10/7/13
