“Would you consider yourself to be ‘damaged’ goods?” Or… do you think that you might be? And, if so, why do you think such a thing? Let me assure you….my friend….you’re NOT. That is, unless, you choose to be.
Being damaged goods is a choice! When God made us (that would be you and me); He wrote down our name and number, and, it was not damaged or tarnished. Being damaged is not God’s wish for any of us… He has specific ‘plans’ for each of us… and being damaged is not part of that plan. God tells us so in Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Being ‘damaged goods’ is accepting satan, and renouncing Jesus Christ. The CHOICE is ours to make.
I won’t play with words, or clichés, just to make a point that is already… so obvious. Don’t confuse being DAMAGED GOODS with momentary failure, falling off the wagon, losing you job, blowing your career objective…or even the worst sort(s) of sin. Because of… and since, Jesus died on the Cross for all of our sins; any part of us thought to be damaged, was repaired by His Blood and Resurrection.
By His death and resurrection… He has given each of us the strength, structure, capacity, wisdom, and Faith, to transform any form of damage into success, stability, compassion, happiness, and all things good. We are an EXTENSION of God Himself. God does not, has not, and will not make a mistake.
All that He asks is that we believe in Him, LOVE Him, and to confess and repent of our sins. Isaiah 53:5 – But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.
This is not ‘rocket science’…rather, it is FAITH… a Gift of the Holy Spirit.
