“There comes a time in your life when you have to let go of all the pointless drama and the people who create it and surround yourself with people who make you laugh so hard that you forget the bad and focus solely on the good. After all… life is too short to be anything but happy.” …unknown
I first read this quotation from an ‘unknown source’ several years ago, and I was reminded of it… just in time for today’s posting for… ‘BrOOKS-of- WISDOM.’ It now reminds me of my three children, all mid-life-adults, who when they get together…laugh incessantly… that is to say…NON-STOP. I always take pictures of them, laughing hysterically… just to show them later, so we can all ‘laugh’ some more. I love to see them laugh…and too, my wife.
My wife doesn’t take to laughing to the level… as we foolish guys (my children and me), but when she does… WOW… she can’t stop either. There is nothing prettier than a smiling, or laughing… woman, particularly if she’s your wife. Thank you Dear Jesus.
Smiling and laughing is a ‘special gift’ that God gave man, when He created us in His likeness. It’s a way of communicating with others that ‘all is well.’
We are told in…Job 8:21 – “He will yet fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips with shouting.” This scripture declares that it is the Lord that fills our mouths with laughter. He rejoices over us and blesses us in every way possible. God fills our lips with laughter, so that we can face every obstacle and challenge with hope and excitement.
The Bible tells us in Psalm 59:8…that God laughs at our pride and arrogance: “But you, O Lord, laugh at them; you scoff at all those nations.” We are also told from the Bible, in Luke 15:10… that the angels in heaven rejoice when someone repents and gives their life to Christ. Heaven is a place of joy.
My favorite scripture about ‘laughter’ is found in…Ecclesiastes 3:4 “a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;” Here…Solomon, the wisest man that ever lived, wrote this passage on the various seasons that all of have to face…at one time, or another. He clearly is reminding us that there is a time for everything, including a time to laugh and rejoice. Solomon was well aware of the attributes of God… and how rejoicing, smiling…. laughter were, all… gifts from God to us…to His children…that would be you, and, and all of mankind.
Sure, there are plenty of things in this crazy world to mourn about… but then, let it be for the moment. Don’t let others… who too often, prefer misery over joy… to CONTROL your life, your humor, or you LOVE for others.
