“…Don’t waste your TIME just ‘plugging along’ in life.  There’s too much to do, too much to learn, too much to teach… and…”

Do your BEST:  You know… being the best is not as important as ‘trying your best.’ There are plenty of us who prefer to drive in the SLOW LANE…it’s often times more enjoyable, and for the most part… it’s SAFER.

But I’m not talking about which lane we drive in…. rather, I’m talking about ‘how well you drive.’  Rather it’s DRIVING, diving, riding, plowing, digging, painting, mowing, teaching, learning, or… just BEING.  Try you BEST to outdo the REST.

Don’t waste your TIME just ‘plugging along’ in life.  There’s too much to do, too much to learn, too much to teach… and if you never get out of ‘low gear,’ you’re not only going to lose the race… you will NEVER earn the right to participate in ‘future races.

If you’re the Leader, doing your best is mandatory, lest you won’t remain the Leader for too many cycles.  If you’re the Follower, doing your best is mandatory, lest you won’t ever become a Leader. For both the Leader and the Follower, doing your best is mandatory because God, who is the Great Leader, Teacher, and Motivator, requires it of us.

We are told in Paul’s letter to the Colossians – 3:23-23 – Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward.   And, again in…. 2 Timothy 2:15 – Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

For me… doing my best… goes beyond what God’s Word requires of me.  I do my BEST, because ‘it makes me FEEL BETTER… mentally, physically… and emotionally.  It gives me the incentive to work harder… to think through the steps, and journey …to SUCCESS.  I don’t ‘enter the race’ UN-PREPARED.  I enter the race… fully prepared, with full intensions of WINNING.  Doing my BEST is a ‘way of life’ for me.  Anyone… around me for very long… would know that to be TRUE.

And NO… of course not…I DON’T ALWAYS WIN… but, for the record… I NEVER LOSE.  Each RACE… be it business, social, family, or even… spiritually… is just the next step…in PREPRATION…for the next race.

You might wonder… what does racing, winning, preparation, etc. …. have to do with my spirituality?  Well, for an example…  I’m not going to read just a half chapter in the Book of 2 Corinthians.  If I don’t read the entire bookI will not have learned about how Paul suffered in prison (all for the GLOY of GOD)… as found in Chapter 11:24-28 – Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;  In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

And Then in Chapter 12:9-10And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Imagine, then… If I were the Catechist (bible teacher), and you were the Pupil… what would you learn from someone who was not ‘doing his BEST’ to KNOW the Word of God?  I would not last very long as someone who is relied upon to KNOW, and TEACH, the Word of God.  I would be a biblical looser.

The bottom line… no matter the CAUSE…business, family, pleasure, or… Spiritual… do your absolute BEST.  Be Prepared!   …Blessings…cjlb…9/22/2017
