“…Even with all of the “hype”…. I offer a word of CAUTION…if your Adrenalin Rush, the Passion, and the corresponding Success… is such, that you…”

Image result for caricature of a man with a AdrenalineAdrenalin Rush… some get it…some don’t.

I attract Adrenalin Rushes like a fat-hog in grease. An Adrenaline Rush is an extremely intense feeling… at least for me. Adrenaline is a natural hormone that is produced by the body and secreted throughout the body when you undergo some type of traumatic experience. For me…it starts in the pit of my stomach, quickly rushes up through my chest, down my armpits, into my neck, then my neck…settling into my gums. Often, it’s like an “electrical shock.” Especially the “exciting ones.”

Some people, like me, get a rush simply by being “under pressure.” I love it. I do my very best work while “under the influence”…. that is to say, under the influence of PRESSURE, and therefore ADRENALIN. I tend to wait until the last minute to prepare for a presentation; meetings, or an important report…. Just so my Adrenalin will kick-in.

I do this, because… I’m at my PEAK when under pressure. I accomplish the required tasks, perform my leadership roles accordingly. I have a PASSION for all that I do. And if don’t detect the passion, I simply…don’t pursue. Before the Passion kick’s in… my Adrenalin needs to get flowing.

Writing these daily posts for BrOOKS-of-WISDOM …is a reflection of the Adrenalin and Passion kicking in.

A good Leader will have severe cases of Adrenalin Rush in all that he pursues. If he were to lack…Adrenalin, he will also lack Passion, Commitment, Dedication, and Confidence…and yes…Humility.   And, he will also lack “the killer instinct,” that all leaders MUST process if they ever expect to convert their pursuits into conquests.

We are told in Hebrew 12:12-13So don’t sit around on your hands! No more dragging your feet! Clear the path for long-distance runners so no one will trip and fall, so no one will step in a hole and sprain an ankle. Help each other out. And run for it!

Even with all of the “hype”…. I offer a word of CAUTION…if your Adrenalin Rush, the Passion, and the corresponding Success… is such, that you began to think that you have “the POWER” instead of God…then you’re in TROUBLE. Both Leaders and Followers often avoid discussing, or admitting, their weaknesses. Our “sudden claim to STRENGTH and POWER” can be weakened if not flavored by… HUMILITY. True Leadership is fully recognized when it is clearly honest and humble. There is nothing wrong with all the Hype of Adrenalin and Passion, but don’t let it present an illusion of reality. Never abandon the TRUTH… and present yourself, always, with INTEGRITY.

We are told, clearly, in James 4:6…”God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” If or when, you feel failure creeping up on you, then realize …its God resisting your sense that you are the one that is in CONTROL… instead of Him.

I know, too often, I allow my Adrenalin, Passion, and subsequent Success, to give me a “false sense of POWER… I know… I must be careful…I know I must be HUMBLE.
