“…Ever noticed how some might attend law school… but… NEVER actually practice law a day in their life…ending up, instead… in some other…”

Image result for caricature: choicesCHOICES: Why do we choose one career objective over another? Or… did the career choose us? Ever wonder why? I’ll wager that more people “end-up” in their career field… because “luck of the draw,” or by happen-chance. Few will think they got where they are… by the Grace of God.

We find in… 1 Corinthians 1:26-28 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

There is no “happen-chance.” Have you ever noticed how some might attend law school… but… NEVER actually practice law a day in their life…ending up, instead… in some other field of endeavor… totally unrelated to their educational pursuits? There are probably… as many as not…who undertake seminary studies, only to find out that they are ill-equipped, or in-deposed… for the ministry. Then some people go into the family business hating it before they even start, hate it while doing it; then abandon it….only to return to it, and to LOVE and excel more than ever. There are ‘no set-rules’… but what is set… is the “perfect true will,” which is the submissive will of God.

God wants us to be submissive, as told to us in I Peter 2:13-15 – Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right.   For such is the will of God that by doing right you may silence the ignorance of foolish men.

And again, in James4:7 – Submit, therefore, to God; And, then again, in Ephesians 5:21 – Submit to one another.”

The Permissive Will of God is that ‘Will,’ which God does not decree to occur, nor is it His will …since it is not in accordance with His Law.  God’s permissive will is His will, which allows sin to occur.  God allows man to rebel against him, by permitting them do such things as lie or steal.

Jer. 19:5 – “and have built the high places of Baal to burn their sons in the fire as burnt offerings to Baal, a thing which I never commanded or spoke of, nor did it ever enter My mind.” Rom. 1:21-23 – “For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God, or give thanks; but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.”

In the permissive setting… We find that God will “permit us” (that would be you and me) to pursue a certain direction… knowing that it is against His will, and by us doing so, we will be able to “learn from our mistakes,” and move on to His “true and perfect will.” Thanks be to God.
