I asked God to take away my pride. God said “No. It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.” I asked God to make my handicapped child whole. God said “No. Her spirit was whole, her body was only temporary.” I asked God to grant me patience. God said “No. Patience is a by-product of tribulations; it isn’t granted, it is earned.”
I asked God to give me happiness. God said “No. I give you blessings, happiness is up to you.” I asked God to spare me pain. God said “No. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.” I asked God to make my spirit grow. God said “No. You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.” I asked for all things that I might enjoy life. God said “No. I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things.”
I ask God to help me LOVE others, as much as he loves me. God said: “Ahhhh, finally you have the idea!” “There’s a time and place for everything, for everyone. God works in a mysterious way.” Just trust in God. Author Unknown
…. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 – There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
Every time God says ‘No’ to us…it may be Him saying ‘Yes’ in disguise. The ‘no’ being what is best for us at the time, and the ‘yes’ being what we’re being lead to …in His time.
