“… Factually… we’re a big loser…and we don’t even know why….”

STOP:  Just think about this for a moment, please.  We get 168 hours per week, we give just one; we get 8736 hours per year, we give only 52, or .000595 % vs. 100%.  This is a GREAT deal for us, but not much of one for the Great Giver….the Savior of ALL of mankind.  What’s the problem?  Why do we give 52, and get 8736 in return?  Could we be thinking only of ourselves?  We get up in the morning, do our stuff, take a shower …then we get near a mirror…what happens?  We think only of ourself.  How great we look, how handsome, or how beautiful (HOW SICKENING).  Then, we get moving …driving down the street in our COOL wheels, wearing our COOL clothes, strutting around in our COOL new boots.  We’re real cowboys…yeah.  Then, once on the job; where we’re so important, doing important work, for important people; with these wonderful ideas that only we can provide, because we are the greatest and the coolest, earning big-bucks for being the best.  But the facts, are, we’re living in a dream-world. Because, we’re about to lose our job, about to lose our family, about to lose our truck, and we’ve already lost our biggest account; and the boss has moved us into a corner office, without windows.  Factually… we’re a big loser…and we don’t even know why.  Because of our narcissistic personality, we don’t realize the problem is from WITHIN. The same guy/gal to whom we were staring at, in the mirror ,this morning is the slob looking back at us this evening, with droopy eyes, back-alley-beer-breath, and shaky hands.  The great one…isn’t so great after all.  We blame our problems on everyone else…but the culprit…..ourselves.  Our priorities are up-side-down, probably…just like our mortgage.  If we were to stop smoking, stop drinking, stop speeding, stop drugging, stop cheating, stop lying, stop lusting, stop visiting the porno-sites, stop day-dreaming, and stop over-eating…we might…wake up with a clear mind, a focused plan-of-action, a sense of fair-play, an eagerness to serve others, and to serve God; Our Lord Jesus.  Imagine giving God one extra hour per seek equates to a 100% improvement.  Too many of us spend too much time blaming others, looking for the easy short-cuts, and the newest way to beat the system; that…we’ve lost our sense of direction.  SOLUTION: Go to Church, help your co-workers find solutions to their problems, commit to doing your own job to the best of your ability, re-new your spousal/family commitments, and re-commit  to God the Father…and you will find a greater degree of success, better health, genuine peer relationships, giving without expecting something in return, and a sense of satisfaction that you gave it your best.  Add to that formula; the daily practice of getting on your knees, thanking God for all that He provides; and you will see a different person looking back at you in the mirror. Doing this guarantees you success, happiness, and a personal relationship with God.  James 4:8 tells us, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”  Putting God first and serving others is the only way to put your life in order. Mark 12:29-30 says: `Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’  ….Blessings…cjlb…2/9/14
