“… Failure is proving one’s self as unsuccessful, more often than not… a result of ‘just giving up.’ ”

Image result for caricature of frustrated manCONFUSED?  SETBACK, REJECTION or FAILURE? Do any of these seem familiar to you? All, at one time or another, will affect our career, personal lives, and even spiritual. But each are different in terms of permanency.

Setbacks could be a career reversal, and may even be beneficial to you in the long run. Rejection, on the other hand, is a deliberate exclusion from an event affecting our career, i.e., going against the corporate structure. And, political missteps; which could have lasting affects; for longer periods; but only permanently if you let it. Failure is proving one’s self as unsuccessful, more often than not… a result of “just giving up.”  This could be a blessing in disguise, as better opportunities may result, once reality sets in, and you’re determined to “change.”

I’m a victim of all three and still see occasional rejection. These can be devastating if we ALLOW it, but none can do permanent harm if we refuse to take NO for an answer.

Knowing which is which; is the key to overcoming them; or allowing them to take control of one’s destiny. Learning how to deal with each of these will lead to a more successful career.

1 Peter 5:10 – And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.  James 1:12 – Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.  Romans 12:12 – Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
