Special GIFTS from Heaven: God, through the Holy Spirit… gifts us with the ability to do ‘great things.’ Our CHOICE is to utilize theses gift… seeking opportunity wherever we can; leaving nothing to fate. Or, we can choose to let the gift ‘die on the vine.’
Jesus explains to us in Galatians 5:22-23 – That the branches which do not bear fruit are taken away… and the branches that bear fruit are pruned… so that they… bear more fruit. The process of bearing fruit simply means to “grow in character” — that is… to become more Christ-like… and reflect the fruit of the Spirit. Here… is where we come to his command that we abide… He says in John 15:4 – “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me”
Abiding in Jesus… means to keep His commandments… and to keep His commandments means to love God with all our hearts and souls and minds… and to love our neighbor as ourselves …as told to us in… Matthew 22:37-39 – And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Life is a (limited) time-clock…wasting time is not an option. Conquering the world is everyone’s intention; but reality sets in, and you realize you are just a spoke in the wheel; and the cushy job is held for those better connected, better prepared, or who by blood… inherited the job. Absent a benefactor; we are on our own.
Opportunity does not come to us that often… so our job, then… is to go after opportunities… to create opportunities. One option is to develop a detailed POA (Plan-Of-Action) and chase the opportunities… until we find the right one. On the heels of one of the worst depressions since 1929, we have unique, and unusual… opportunities not seen in 20 years.
In developing our POA… God is, or should be… an integral part of ‘the plan’, for without Him, we can do nothing.
John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”
For me, I intend to capitalize on every opportunity…. And, I intend to ‘glorify God’ in the process. …Blessings…cjlb… 8/11/2017
