Some of us are facing BIG CHANGES in the coming weeks and months; due to a myriad of reasons; ranging from divorce, death, loss of job, bankruptcy, career changes, health-care, furloughs, government shutdown, moving across country, cultural or religious adjustments…or, just the economy in general…to name a few.
All of these changes…., too often, are catastrophic, very difficult to deal with, or to overcome. In some cases… we never are able to overcome them. Primarily, because we are relying totally on our own efforts….never seeking the wisdom of others, or more importantly… relying on God to help us. We are told in Proverbs 3:5-6…to “Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.…
Then there are those others, for whom, it represents an opportunity to start over with less baggage, less responsibilities, less risk, and less stress or heartache. Some would feel blessed with the opportunities that “new beginnings” might bring.
While many things may change, God, Our Father, does not change. 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us…. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
