“…For some, salvation comes easily; and for others, Jesus has to wake us up from the dead….”

20131202_221105John 11:34-36:  “Where have you laid him (Lazarus)? In the tomb.  Jesus wept.  And they said, see how He loved him.”  Keep this verse in the back of your mind, while I try to paint a picture for you.  Imagine this: If it takes 50 strokes of paint, side by side, to cover ½ of a 12’x100’ wall; (with each stroke you make, the color is a slightly darker shade) and you make one more stroke, you will have ½ of the wall complete, plus one stroke.  Do you see that in your minds-eye?  Ok…let us just assume that the “one-stroke extra” represents that point in time when God entered your life, on the road to your Salvation.  Would you, necessarily, have felt the difference of that one stroke?   Look at the wall; is there that much color difference from one end to the other?  NO, with only one more stroke, the shade difference is not that noticeable.  Now imagine when you’ve completed 99 strokes, lacking only one more stroke to completion.  When making that final stroke, will you notice the difference in the total wall?  I’d think YES; because the wall is now complete, as God has finished the transition for us; plus, we would recognize the end result as being totally different, but did not notice the gradual change in color.  For some of us, that is the way that Jesus enters our lives…very subtlety, a stroke at a time, undetectable.  For others; the 51st stroke is recognizable as a totally different color; thus they sense the immediate transformation; some remembering the exact date and occasion.  But in either scenario…Jesus would have been weeping for us.  For some, salvation comes easily (a stroke at a time); and for others, Jesus has to wake us up from the dead.  Blessings…cjlb…12/03/13
