REPRESENTATION: There are all kinds of people who fill the position of Representative. We have city, county, state and federal representatives… who by law… are supposed to be representing the citizens of their corresponding district.
Further…we have others in the private sector who represent our various personal and business needs. These would consist of our bankers, insurance agents, and our attorneys. They represent us, and act as our agents.
Then, there are those individuals… like you and me… Who do we represent these days? Our clients; company; family; God, or maybe just our-SELF? I contend that the last several generations have forgotten…or maybe, I suppose… not taught what serving others consists of.
In today’s culture; it’s all about ME. What’s in it for ME? If your career, your life, your family…. seem stagnant, then possibly you’re suffering from a SERIOUS case of the “ME’s.” It seems that we’ve been in a “God-less” society the last 50 years. No prayers… and all of this political correctness nonsense. We’re being drowned with selective media. In many schools… our children are no longer taught cursive. Imagine not being able sign your signature in long-hand. Our children are being ‘dumbed down.’ I know some young adults who don’t even know the difference between Uppercase and a lowercase letters. Now-a-days…we don’t even know the difference between a girl scout and a boy scout. We now have a genderless society. For those 38 women that Harvey Weinstein allegedly sexually harassed… his defense may be: “I thought they were guys.”
And now… there is the developing disrespect… for Our Country, Our Veterans, and Our Flag. What is next….the LOST generation?
Our PROBLEM? … A total lack of LOVE, compassion, and respect for each other. The Fall of the Roman Empire… all over again.
“Matthew 22:36-40 – “Teacher,” he asked, “which is the most important commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Love him with all your mind.’ This is the first and most important commandment. And the second is like it. ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’ Everything that is written in the Law and the Prophets is based on these two commandments.”
