Afront, affront, front: I bet you don’t see this word used very often. Let’s try a few examples. 1. He was afront of me. 2. He was a front for me. 3. He was affront. As for #1: We were equal, side-by-side, abreast. As for #2: He was a front; meaning, instead of, a shield. As for #3: He offended me, snubbed, or injured me. NO…I’m not trying to give you a vocabulary lesson … I just like to study words, and their impact. Like people; certain words, when used properly…come to life. Take a word like… immaculate. Thought of… as being clean. But when you add to it, the word…conception…you then have…IMMACULATE CONCEPTION. While it still means CLEAN; when used in describing the Virgin Birth…it comes ALIVE. Rather someone is FRONTING for you, say, in a test; or AFRONT of you, side-by-side, in a race; or if you’ve been AFFRONTED, or insulted by a colleague…they mean different things; yet seemingly the same. It may be that way in business environments, family, or friends; but when you use them in the same sentence as the word…GOD; well, it just can’t be done. God is neither in front of us, He’s neither beside us, or certainly not affronted, insulted, us. NO to all three. God is INSIDE of us. Because we are made in His Image…He is part of us…we are part of Him. That is what He intended…for us to share His Kingdom, His Glory, and His very Heart. 1 John 4:12 & 15 – No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God. …Blessings …cjlb…10/5/13
