That guy…he’s nothing but a loser… a “real loser… a total loser.” This is a terrible term, but when it’s said to you, or about you…it takes on whole new meaning. It’s a term that I’ve NEVER used in business; even when one is a loser, and might even…deserve it. I would never say those words to anyone….even the enemy.
The facts are, though, the term is used every day; and unfortunately, sometimes, it’s used within the boss/employee relationship…and worse…in a family environ. I can’t think of anything that would deflate one’s ego… so drastically… as that term. To me, it’s one of the ultimate forms of disrespect.
How does one overcome such a situation? Well, one could quit, or he could let it slide off… like on a ducks back. Or even BETTER… he could get serious… get busy, recommitted, and prove himself worthy of re-evaluation.
We all agree… the term is terrible, the meaning behind the term may have, on some occasion…a bit of merit. So, to overcome the reason, then “get even by getting better.” Prove your self-worth, your value to the team, the cause, and to your family members. Prove that you’re a WINNER, not a LOSER.
Or, you could do as Isaiah 55:6 suggests: “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near. The simple fact that we are all… made in God’s Image… alone… should prove that not one of us… is a loser.
