“…I ask each of us… to begin the year… by blessing all those you greet with RESPECT…”

R-E-S-P-E-C-T…..Always treat people with RESPECT…. Having written almost 1300 consecutive articles for this website…BrOOKS-of-WISDOM, I feel this subject is one of the most important I’ve written on…save the one on LOVE.

We are forewarned in Galatians 5:20-22Idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.

RESPECT is not just applicable on Sunday, at home, certain places…or certain people ….they apply in every single thing we do, rather at work, at home, our social endeavors…or playtime. If we focus on love, joy and peace, and treat each other with respect…. All the Idolatry issues will cease to exist.

As recently written… SELF-CONTROL is the controlling issue in all of this. A “little respect” will go a long way; it’s like frosting on a cake. Try it at HOME, at WORK, at PLAY, and our SPIRITUAL lives.

For most of us, our parents taught us to be RESPECTFUL at an early age…. But somewhere, in the process, too many of us… lost our bearings, but hey… we can regain our perspective… by the Grace of God.

A few meaningful directives…Matthew 5: 43-45 – You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

Then in….1 Peter 3:15 But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.

As we began the New Year, 2017…and the many opportunities that it will bring…I ask each of us… to begin the year… by blessing all those you greet with RESPECT. God Bless you, and all those you LOVE… and care for.

Happy New Year’s and… God Bless America.
