“…I can tell you… from many years of experience… that FOLLOWING the will of God… will KEEP… you out of the ‘emotional closet’….”

EMOTIONS:  Some of us live in an EMOTIONAL closet.  We’re hiding from reality….and, too often, from ourselves, family, friends, and worse…. our spouse.  Somewhere along the path of seeking ‘career stardom’… we become disillusioned about the appropriate direction to go in… to become a successful leader.

There are significant obstacles that we CONFRONT… and when we realize we’re not prepared… we become emotionally paralyzed.  We, then… RETREAT to the CLOSET.  We tend to find our visits to the closet more frequent as we navigate our career path.  It soon becomes obvious that we NEED to break-away… escape from the CLOSET.  It’s not that we don’t know what needs to be done, rather… it’s that we don’t know the combination to breaking out of the closet.

Here are several suggestions on how what that combination might be.  Determine and DEFINE… exactly what the ‘obstacles’ are that put us in the closet to start with.  List them out, and tackle each one, separately… starting with the most debilitating ones.  One of these will be… PREPARATION.  Focus on being PREPEARED.  Once that obstacle is removed; our CONFIDENCE, and sense of ACCOMPLISHMENT… will began to return.  Now, we can… move on to the next item on the list….and repeat, etc., until the closet door is permanently unlocked.

Too often… we OVERLOOK the most important debilitating obstacle… that being… GOD. One of the reasons… God is being overlooked, is because of our ‘weak-relationship’ with Him.  In the process of… ‘Refocusing on God’… we will soon discover that God has not abandoned us…rather, we have ‘abandoned God.’ The only way to improve our relationship with God… is through PRAYER.   By establishing a wholesome and sincere… PRAYERFUL relationship with Him….then all the other debilitating obstacles will fade into the sunset.

The Apostle Paul tells us in his letter to the Romans 8:26 – But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it. In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groaning’s too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

I can tell you from many years of experience… that FOLLOWING the will of God… will open all your doors, remove all your OBSTACLES, and make your PATH far more negotiable….KEEPING you out of the ‘emotional closet.’
