“….I can’t stand the thought of being CONTENT….”

photo-20120706-063052CONTENTMENT:  Not me…NEVER me.  I can’t stand the thought of being CONTENT.  To me, it’s almost like giving up, or throwing the towel in, or Quitting.  Contentment means that you’re satisfied with the results, your life, or retirement, or the last deal you made for the company; or just being plain’o happy.  I know the Bible says in Hebrews 13:5– Let your character be free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you.”  And, while I agree with that, I also feel that contentment is being satisfied with who you are, and what you know, and where you’re going.  I think Hebrews is talking about being content with “your processions,” in that; you can’t take them with you.  I’m talking about having limited knowledge of science, finance, history, and even the Bible.  I’m talking about expanding yourself such that you can do a better job, be a better steward of what Gifts God has given you, which includes the Gifts of Wisdom and Knowledge.  And, in order to be a better steward of your intelligence; one must equip themselves to do a better job…for mankind.  In so doing, one has to set aside some of the contentment factor.  We learn in Proverbs 18:15 An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.  Proverbs 2:10 For wisdom will come into your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. ….Blessings …cjlb…10/24/13
