Courage: We must come out of hiding. There are some people who are very courageous; doing what others fear, intimidated by; and often at the risk of great physical pain or discomfort. About 13 years ago, when my brother was diagnosed with Stage-4 Colon Cancer; I had never had a colonoscopy, and dreaded the idea of doing it.
They sedate you such that it puts you out for about 20 minutes, allowing them time to do the deed. Ugh! Well, after going through that same ordeal 2-3 times, I decided while laying on the gurney, that I’d try doing it without being put to sleep. W-O-W…it was the worst pain that I had EVER endured in my life. I just wanted to know if I could endure the PAIN without actually dying. It was TERRIBLE, but certainly not life-threatening. Since then, I’ve had 5 more, all without sedation. The point being…we all are capable of enduring more pain than we think would be possible. There are times in our business career, family life, and God-Time that we MUST come out of hiding and do what some suggest would be very painful. They’re elements of corporate head-hunters
who are constant looking for courageous leadership, someone to do the impossible, the timely; and the necessary. YOU can be that person, AND you may already be that person, BUT you have not yet come out of hiding. 1 Peter 3:13-14 – Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened.”……but courageous …. Blessings…cjlb…12/12/13
