MIA: Missing In Action: What, or who, is missing in your life? And why? Are you happy or sad; over-weight or under-weight; under employed….or no job at all; low pay or highly paid; gossiping or being gossiped about; under aged… over-the hill; low or high self-esteem; sick or well; married or divorced; have girl or no-girl; smart or not-so; in debt or out of debt; drugged-up or not; a smoker or not; drinker or not; depressed or not; good hygiene, or bad; gook-looking or not so cute; white teeth or worse… no-teeth; short or tall; fat or skinny; still a virgin or not; truthful or not too; rejected or accepted; narcissi or humble; and now …. The most important… believer or non-believer?
In today’s society, too many of us… shun the idea of public acceptance of God. They’re embarrassed to say the Blessing before meals… while in a public setting. They avoid any adornment that might imply that they believe in Jesus Christ. They fail to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the sick, and care for the elderly… leaving such social issues to the government. Basically…they have kicked God out of the Corporate Board Rooms, the Family Room, and the Bedroom.
You do the analysis…. If one feels bad (aside from some mental or emotional disorder), then… there’s a reason for it; and one might… just might…find the reason by looking into the mirror.
I know of a fellow, just past 60, who has spent a lifetime thinking everybody is against him; out to get him; to shun him; and… tell lies about him, etc. He drinks like a fish; knows no moral boundaries; and does drugs at will. Interesting, though… he knows the Bible better than most… but refuses to believe any of it. Ge is constantly sick; owns several DUI’s; a cheat, has children by three wives, and currently has a young girl pregnant. Yet… he can’t figure out what the problem is. He blames everybody but… accepting… no blame for himself. He wrote the book on narcissi behavior. Who is he? Point in almost any direction, and you’ll see him.
We are reminded in… Job 11:14-15 – If iniquity is in your hand, put it far away, and do not let wickedness dwell in your tents; “Then, indeed, you could lift up your face without moral defect, And you would be steadfast and not fear. Also, in… Psalms 13: 1-2 – How long, O LORD? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart all the day? How long will my enemy be exalted over me? And finally… Romans 8:28 – And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
