“…I like things ‘refined, defined, and confined’…”

DEFINITION: Now… this is something we get really get our teeth into…. I started semi-serious weight lifting with a dear friend about 15 years ago (at age 61), and have maintained a daily ritual ever since. Ok…excepting when I had rotator-cuff surgery (caused by lifting).

My plan was to “get into shape.” I wanted to give definition to my upper body; and I have succeeded… for the most part. And, anyone listening in would have to agree that words somewhat of a fancy of mine, and therefore definitions are, as well. I am a man of great detail, and giving definition to my career, my marriage, planning, business, and my spiritual journey is of great import to me.

I like things refined, defined, and confined (isolated). Some of us go through life with little organization… or definition, in our life; and one day, down the line, will wake-up to the idea that life has passed us by, and we have no idea why.

Probably, because their life lacked definition. Too often we fail to focus on the important matters of life, leaving everything up to chance. I am not an advocate of leaving anything up to chance. I feel by defining everything into the confines of a plan, then I have more control over the outcome, and can…. More easily…accept responsibility for the results (free-will).

Do you have a defining moment? What will your children remember about you that, in their mind…defines you? While God plays (or should) the most important part in our plan; He also expects us to give our lives definition. It is said in Isaiah 43:7, where we are given the ultimate of definition.Everyone who is called by My name, And whom I have created for My glory, Whom I have formed, even whom I have made.”

Also, in Ephesians 1:11 – Also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will. Thus says the Lord
