“… I NEVER ask anyone to do something that I haven’t done myself. I work hard (even today) and expect those around me to do the same…”

"...No one has ever died from HARD work..."

“…No one has ever died from HARD work…”

HARD WORK WON’T KILL YOU: I love hard work. I love to keep working until the job is complete. I don’t even like to take a tea or lunch break, and even hate to go home if the project goes into the next day. Work until your knuckles bleed, then work some more. God tells us to work hard, diligently, and commit to do good. God wants us to succeed, but “just talking about it will not bring success.” For Jeremiah 29:11 tells us – For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

God tells us to be patient and success will prevail. Being a Leader or a Follower is not the point…the point is to do either the very best that you can, and not to take our responsibilities lightly. As Proverbs 14:23 says – All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty. It is still TRUE that “hard work never killed anybody.”

Hard work is even good for your health, and also your “spiritual life.” I can’t tell you how many pounds I’ve lost, good exercise that I’ve accomplished, and the enhanced PRAYERS that I’ve done… over the years… just by “cutting my own yard,” washing my own cars, building this project or that; even so simple as climbing around on ladders all day, to change numerous light bulbs…. And to clean ceiling fans. Some of my “best conversations” with God have been while cutting my yard. I remember as a 13 year old, working at the Winn-Dixie Home Store (grocery store… for those who don’t remember, or weren’t around then)…carrying the grocery bags out to the customers car…and either “singing, or praying,” or both… in the “silent mode”… of course.

In general, I NEVER ask anyone to do something that I haven’t done myself. I work hard (even today) and expect those around me to do the same. Management will “recognize” the guy who is the “hard worker,” verses the one who is standing around “talking to the girls,” or is just running his mouth…interfering with the others.

Remember, the Apostle Paul is credited with writing the Prison Epistles, while a prisoner of Rome, he makes it clear that his captivity was first and foremost to serve Christ (Philemon 1:9Ephesians 3:1Colossians 4:18Philippians 1:12–14). Paul’s time in prison was for the purpose of the spreading of the gospel in the Gentile capital of Rome. The Lord Himself told Paul to “take courage! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome” (Acts 23:11). Paul’s time in captivity was no less profitable to us today than it was to the first-century churches he loved so well.

Paul tells us in 2nd timothy 4:7 – “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; 8in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.” Paul was a “hard worker.”

What are we doing (you and me) to go about doing “God’s work?” We are told very clearly that “this is our job assignment,” in my favorite bible verse, we are told in Matthew 28:19 – “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. This passage is not a “suggestion,” rather… it is a DIRECTIVE…. Jesus is not suggesting…He’s TELLING us to do this. If we are “true believers,” then we don’t have a choice.

Genesis 3:19 – By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return. Blessings…cjlb…10/01/15.   So, there you have it….Blessings…..cjlb..10/01/15.
