“…I seldom ‘prepare’ for important events.  Like a eulogy, for an example…”

BE PREPARED:  Would you fly a plane without proper preparedness?  Deliver a baby?  Get married?  Take on a career responsibility without being properly prepared.  If you’re NOT ready, then do everyone a big favor and decline the opportunity….until you are PREPARED.

Does everyone follow ‘the rules?’  Heck NO!  And thank goodness for that.  If we ‘were fully prepared,’ then possibly… everything would ‘go better.’  Probably not.

Don’t get me wrong now… I think being prepared is much, much better than ‘not being prepared.’  I am suggesting, though, that we can NEVER EVER be fully prepared.  Some of jump into ‘the deal,’ as being almost fully unprepared.  Obama for an example… was NEVER prepared.  Trump?  Certainly not prepared for the ‘too fast…too soon’ reversal of Obama Care.  And, others in high places of authority and responsibility… many…too many…unprepared.

As for me, and to further make my point:  I always “think that I’m prepared.”  But… too often…I’m not.  I admit it….not always prepared.  I seldom ‘prepare’ for important events.  Like a eulogy, for an example.  Or, some business presentation.  I don’t like CONFUSING the issue (or responsibility) with a bunch of FACTS.  My ‘better presentations,’ are OFF-the CUFF.  They come off as being more sincere, more dramatic, more authentic, and ‘listener friendly.’  That’s just me… I don’t recommend it for anyone else.

Now, when it comes to putting my “money where my mouth is,” then… believe me… I’m working hard on being prepared.  I try not to leave any stones unturned.  No surprises for me.  But… the fact is…invariably … it doesn’t come out that way. I always FORGET something, and too often… something IMPORTANT.  While I TRY… I cannot, ever, be fully prepared.  When ‘other people’ are involved… it is impossible to predict what they’ll do, or say, to contradict you, or counteract… what you do, or say.

For some, by the stroke of luck… or what?  Everything they do, or say… turns out ‘just right.’  There are some who can turn beer into champagne… every time.  For me…garbage in… garbage out.  I have to really ‘work hard’ for anything I do … to come out right.  But, by and large, even when I’m not fully prepared… God Blesses me with ‘good results.’  Thank you Dear Jesus.

Generally though… anything can be fixed (to be make correct) if one has enough ‘time and money’ to CORRECT his errors.  The exception, of course, would be issues that are ‘only once’ in a life-time to get it right.  Failing ONCE…then, it’s forever… too late.  Like, for an example, pulling the ‘rip-cord’ on a parachute … on time, as designed.  One rarely will get a second chance.

But in business… we can ‘buy our way out’ of most problems.  But how about…SPIRITUAL things?  Do we get second chances?  YES.  Can we ‘buy our way out?’  NO.  Can we ‘fix it?’  Generally, yes… unless we FAILED to follow God’s instructions…then, maybe…we might be in for a surprise.  The BEST-WAY, spiritually speaking… is to always “be ready.”  Since we don’t KNOW when ‘we’re all ‘out of time,’ as God only knows the ‘time and the place,’… then, we could be in a ‘heap of trouble.’

Here’s one good rule, found in… 2 Corinthian 13:5 – Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

If one claims to know Christ as their Savior… and yet shrugs off “known sin” as no big deal… then, he may be in for a serious reality check when Christ returns.  The only people ready for His return are those who “daily seek to bring every area of life under His lordship.”  For all of us…it is a constant struggle, but if we are not engaging in the struggle to ‘cleanse our soul’…then we need to examine ourselves to see whether we are in the faith. Those who are ready for Christ’s return seek to follow Him as Lord.
