QUOTE: The strongest oaks grow where the wind blows the hardest. As followers of Christ, we are “Refined by Adversity.” (Unknown). If your career is REFINED by adversity, then you are progressing. If your career is “defined” by adversity, then you have a problem. Seek someone out that you trust, for their help in converting adversity to a positive rather than a negative.
2 Corinthians 12:9 – But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Proverbs 3:4-6 – So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. James 1:2-4 – Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
Speaking from my own experience… I thrive on ADVERSITY. I like being behind the 8-ball… it’s my comfort zone, and just about the only place I’ve ever been. I’m like Br’er Rabbit, I want to be thrown in the briar-patch. While my competitors are thinking I’m drowning…I’m really swimming up-stream. Adversity brings out “my best.” It makes me “work-harder,” run faster, and “last longer.”
Adversity is, and has been, COMMON PLACE throughout America’s history, and is what prompted us to seek freedom from England …and to MAINTAIN our FREEDOM throughout our proud history. God Bless America…. And God Bless YOU! ….Blessings…cjlb…5/16/15.
