HAVE YOU SEEN GOD LATELY? Well, believe it, or not…I have. Several days back, I had the pleasure of attending a Mass for Catholic School children, and the Priest geared his Homily at the children’s level; and one part of the sermon dealt with rather or not any of the children had ever seen God.
Of course, all the children sat “spell-bound”…but, no one raised their hand saying they had actually see God. But… “I felt like raising my hand,” and shouting out…. “Hey…I’ve seen God.” But of course, not wanting to shock anyone, or bring attention to myself… it didn’t seem the appropriate thing to do. But never the less…I have seen God. And, I know many who make the same claim.
Remember: Genesis 1:27 – So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. I know that all of mankind are made in His Image, so therefore, seemingly, when we look at someone else… we are, in effect looking at the Image of God. So, it would seem, too, when looking at His Image… for those who are living in His Faith… we must sense the love that God has for us, His children.
When we don’t see His Image in our fellow man… then, possibly… we are not in the Faith of Jesus Christ; and would lack that special gift of Love that He imparts to us, through the Holy Spirit. If we Love the Father, then we MUST also, love the Son, and all of His children (that would be all of mankind).
In my own experience; when any of my three children are with me; people often say they look “just like their Father”…. conversely, the same is true when they happen to be with their Mother. So, logically thinking… it must be the same with God the Father. Given that… I wonder which of His features, or characteristics… He imparted to me… or to YOU.
It is my contention that if we cannot find God’s Image in our fellow-man… then, possibly, we are not “connected” with God. We can become “connected,” by surrendering ourselves to Him as “the One True God;” acknowledging that His Son, Jesus… “died on the Cross for the sins” of all of mankind; that we “Confess our sins, repent of those sins, and to “turn-away” from future sin.
