SHARING SUCCESS: As Leaders, we will never experience the “full impact” of our successful leadership if we don’t share that success with all participants. Sharing our success is not really a CHOICE. If we, as leaders, fail or refuse… to SHARE our SUCEESS with everyone involved… then the specific project may have been successful, but we… as the leader…have still failed.
We can SHARE… preferably, as we progress through the ‘on-going process.’ If we wait until the end of the process…that is… when we cross the finish line, then again, we are failing our partners in the process. Allow everyone to enjoy the complete meal, from A to Z. Include everyone… those who are the actual day-to-day participants, Owners, Management, Lenders, Family, Customers (if appropriate), and at the appropriate venue…your children.
Sharing failure has limited benefits… except as a ‘learning tool.’ People don’t celebrate failure… but, bring the party on… for SUCCESS. In my judgment…SUCCESS is always a ‘group success.’ But FAILURE, while it can be a group failure… very often, though… it is a FAULT of LEADERSHIP. Why? If you have a ‘weak-link’ somewhere in the ‘followers’…then you can REPLACE them very easily. But if the weak link is in the LEADER, or management… then replacing them (or him) is not always very easy; particularly if he is also the OWNER.
I would rather have success on any level, than failure as an END RESULT… even if I got the big dollars in the process. No…Sir… Don’t pay me for failure!
Psalm 37:23-24 – The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand. Running your business will challenge you in ways you never considered. There will be days when you stumble, but God will always be there to catch you and lift you back up.
1 Timothy 6:12 – Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. Faith is key in business and in a lifetime of happiness. For those of us who are believers, it is important that we witness to non-believers what God has done for us. He died for us on the cross, so that all sin is forgiven, and that we would have everlasting life.
A Thought to remember …is that God is in charge of our successes; and we would do well to remember that giving Him credit for our successes should be FIRST and FORMOST. Galatians 1:5-7 – To God be the glory forever and ever! Amen.
…Blessings to all… as we share our successes …cjlb … 9/9/2017
