“…If a Leader is ‘leading in one direction,’ and saying and doing something that is not REFLECTIVE of that ‘same direction,’ then he/she is living a lie…”

VALUE DECLARATION: We all need it… and we all… should do it. Leaders MUST declare their values from the start. Don’t take, or develop, a Leadership Role that does not reflect your value system. Leadership roles are not Hollywood roles…rather, they are real life, real people, real consequences, real rewards, or real punishments.

Let your Leadership role REFLECT, not just your own values, but more importantly, let your values reflect the Image of Our Lord God. We are told in Philippians 4:8-9: Finally, brothers, whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and will be with you.

If a Leader is “leading in one direction,” and saying and doing something that is not REFLECTIVE of that “same direction,” then he/she is living a lie. An example would be… a minister cannot EFFECTIVELY preach against the “sin of drunkenness,” and yet every Saturday night…himself… get drunk. Likewise… a man cannot “claim to be a Christian,” and lead the life of a skill-full “non-Christian.” The TRUE QUALITIES of our Leaders will show up…sooner than later. We CANNOT ESCAPE the TRUTH. The TRUTH will always prevail.

Living a double life happens when you justify two different kinds of behavior in your mind. The Bible calls the thought process behind living a double life being double-minded. James 1:8 says that a double-minded person is unstable in everything that they do. James 4:8 says, “Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”

There are several ways of “living a double life.” One is designed from the beginning to be deceitful. One plans ahead of time to do evil, gives great thought to it, and then moves forward with it…. It is very intentional. Again, certainly to be a SPY, or being… say a “cat-burglar” at night and a doctor during the day. Don’t laugh… I know one (he’s in jail now).

The other “double-life” is a bit more simplified, but still… very serious. You might categorize it as “everyday sin.” That would be someone who lives a “respectful life” for MOST to see, but is out and about… doing “terrible and foolish things,” that were not planned on…. “But JUST HAPPENED.” These types of “double-lives” are ALWAYS “sins of the flesh.” Do you KNOW what “sins of the flesh” is? Nope… it not “just” sins involving SEX. It is “worldly sins.” Sins of darkness. It is the process of giving yourself “over to satan,” and abandoning GOD.

I can tell you from experience… having lived a “bit of a double life” some 25 years ago, and finally EXCAPING the CLUTCHES of satan, but it was a struggle… for sure. But something STRANGE happened, that I didn’t realize until just TODAY… I NEVER… not even once, ASKED God to help me…. And yet… that’s all that I had to do…. “God…Please help me… please remove me from the clutches of satan.” There are “no free lunches.” God NEVER condones SIN!! Wrong is always WRONG… it’s not a double NEGATIVE… two wrongs… don’t make a RIGHT.

Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.

This is true in “all walks of life.” Every career type, every social gathering, every family issue…and, every SPIRITUAL issue….there is only “one MASTER.” God.

…Blessings…cjlb… 9/27/15.
