“… If we don’t have a “sense of obedience,” then everything tends to fall apart in our lives….”

Love is the source of obedience.  I’m not going to do it that way…it’s my way or the highway.  I’m going to take this, because no-one will ever know the difference.  If the contract doesn’t require me to do it….I’m not going to do.  Let him wait his turn, just like me…I’ve waited two hours, he can do the same.  I don’t have to take his abuse…they don’t pay me enough.  If he thinks I’m going to help him out of this problem…he’s got another think coming.  He asked for it…let him suffer through it.  Every dog has his day…and he’s got his.  I’m not giving in…no matter the consequence.  Does any of this sound familiar?  It all sounds kind’a self-serving… doesn’t it?  Why are people like this?  It happens in school, because our children learn it from home.  It happens at work because we don’t respect authority.  It happens between spouses because we lack marital commitment.  It happens at Church because we’re not sensitive to other’s spiritual growth.  It happens EVERYWHERE because we lack self-respect, respect for others, and because we have not discovered LOVE in our heart.  Love FUELS obedience.  If we don’t have a “sense of obedience,” then everything tends to fall apart in our lives.  John 14:31 – But I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us go from here. Matthew 22:36-40 – “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”  Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”   …Blessings…cjlb …4/19/14
