SUCCESS: To me…success is a frame of mind; meaning that our first responsibility is to ourselves…that…which we do, achieve, seek, and find…are all issues that must first satisfy ourselves. When we’re satisfied that we’re on the right path to succeed; than we enter the process where Society weighs-in on the degree of our success.
Society (that’s everyone else) determines if we are successful, that is to say: Our success goes beyond our own opinion. Often society disagrees with our own assessment. So… the ultimate test is…do we agree with the naysayers, and give-up? Or, do we take those steps to improve our standing; so that Society agrees with our own opinion?
Giving up leads to failure; continuing the race will ultimately lead to the success we seek. NEVER give up!
Ok… let’s back up a tad-bit. First of all, if we’re out to PLEASE… only ourselves… then we’re destined to fail…or at least, we fail to sustain success. We should be putting God first…family second…etc. When we put our priorities in the proper order…then “our odds” IMPROVE dramatically.
Do we want to Honor and Serve God? If the answer is YES; then be assured that God will overload us with opportunity. He tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. God knows how to connect you to the right opportunity.
Then, we have FAMILY…. Our spouse and children… should provide us with enough incentive to seek out, discover, and create… with God’s help…a successful future.
As for Society having a “say-so,” well… they do; but only to the EXTENT that we ALLOW. We can… it’s our choice…throw the towel in, and let Society have the “last word,” or we can bare-down, buckle-up, and take on the “ride of our life,” and make the navigational changes necessary to match our own designs with that of society.
Surround yourself with those who give you the support you need, that have similar values, which can ADD VALUE to that which you seek. Seek the WISDOM of experience, knowledge, and commitment…and the TRUST and FAITH… that God is the Great Teacher, Leader, and Motivator. Proverbs 13:20 – Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm. ….Blessings… cjlb…8/3/15.
