“…If you a bit of a LONER, then you’re sucking air before you even get started….”

Have you ever noticed how “friendly people,” have plenty of friends?  This is not rocket science.  This is actually God’s plan for God’s people.  He wants us to be happy, well adjusted, and have plenty of friends.  He does not intend for us to be isolated, and alone.  Genesis 2:18 – Then the LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.”  1 Corinthians 11:9 – Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.  So, there you have it….right out of Our Maker’s mouth. The problem is this: We humans don’t make friends very easily.  If we expect to have friends, then we MUST get out in front of the process…and become a friend.  If you want a friend, then you have to be a friend.  We have to be the aggressor.  If you want plenty of friends, you can’t do it and be a wall flower at the same time.  If you a bit of a LONER, then you’re sucking air before you even get started.  It might take a personality variance; but we must do what we must do.  Remember the Apostles got in over their heads from the very beginning, so what’s new?  Another step in the right direction is to get involved in your company’s various social functions, meeting new friends, and becoming a friend.  And, don’t overlook the friendship potential that is available through getting involved in your children’s school life.  They’re many opportunities to meet new people through your children’s friends.  And last, but not least…is Church.  Getting involved in the various Church programs will round out the entire social requirements necessary to develop long-lasting friendships.  It would be important, too, to make friends who are of the same faith, which will help avoid potential conflicts in the future.  It would pay strong dividends to develop friendships with people who share your same moral and ethical standards.  Colossians 3:12-14 – Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.  Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Happy Easter, on this “Special Day” of Our Risen Lord….a good day to reach out to someone….a new friend.     Blessings…cjlb…4/20/14
