Suffering and pain are, clearly, NOT an indication of spiritual weakness; rather… just the opposite. Suffering is a GIFT entrusted to us, designed by God Himself… to sharpen our focus… and to strengthen our resolve.
Paul tells us in his letter to the …Philippians 1:29 – “For unto you it is given… not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake.”
And then, Peter says in… 1 Peter 2-21 – “Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example.” And again, in 1 Peter 5:10 – “But the God of all Grace… after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.”
All of this is meant to say: If you… your business, your career…and, I dare say… your spiritual life… are suffering; then remember that God has a plan; and He, after you suffering a while…will make you perfect. Remember we are made in His Image.
This is a FACT…suffering is inevitable. The question we face… is: How do we react to these trials; what is going to be our response to God’s will? In 1 Thessalonians 3:3 – So that no man may be disturbed by these afflictions; for you yourselves know that we have been DESTINED for this. And in 1 Peter 4:19 – Therefore, let those also who suffer according to the will of God entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right.
So… let’s think about it for a moment. Do we want to be Christ-like? Christ SUFFERED for us…so why not… suffer for HIM? If so… then suffering is part of the turf. It gives us, because of suffering… the POWER to ‘ward-off the likes of satan.’
…Blessings… as we suffer… in His Name…cjlb… 9/6/2017
