“…I’m embarrassed to admit…I’m not white on lies. I’ve had my dark moments…”

20131127_071757DO NOT TAKE A FALSE OATH:   It says in Matthew 5:33: Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:  But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne:  Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.  Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

Over the course of my business career, I’ve been involved in many lawsuits; and NOT-ONE was pure of truth. In absolutely every case, the opposition swore to tell the truth, and told falsehoods, instead. Probably one-half would be considered white lies, yet still damaging. The other half was such humongous lies that bore no resemblance to any form of truth.

The point I wish to make… is that most of those so-called executives, owners, and CEO’s were, by most criteria, respectable people in their community. They felt that their community standing would shield them from any sort of repercussions…should their “lies” were made known. And, unfortunately… they were correct.

One point of interest, though ….with little exception …they’re all dead. May their souls rest in peace! Position is not a license to lie.

Hebrews 6:18God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged.

I’m embarrassed to admit…I’m not white on lies. I’ve had my dark moments; but not in a court environment.  I have found however, that telling the truth puts one in the position of NEVER having to remember what you “supposedly said…or did.” The TRUTH frees of that burden.   So, as Jesus said: “Let you yes be yes, and your no be no; and swear not.” …Blessings…cjlb…4/14/16
