“…In addition… we are finding our Constitutional Rights and our Religious Freedoms being CHALLENGED…”

20131112_145047 (3) - If you're waiting on a Sign... - CopyConsistent vs. Changeable: I know that most of us consider ourselves to be “open-to-change,” when, in fact….we are not.  For myself….I consider myself to be changeable, willing to accept change, and willing to initiate change.  But, when I review “my own past performance” over time, and even recent past;  I have to admit that I am a “prime candidate” for tradition, steadiness, and unchanging attitudes.

Maybe another way of conceding to FACT, is that we are more considerate to “change” when the proposed change originates with ourselves. If it’s someone else’s idea…. then, the answer is NO.  Considering today’s economy, banking regulations, computer technology, tax impact, health insurance impact, and un-employment conditions…. CHANGE is taking place, whether we like it or not.  In fact, too often, it is being forced down our throats… mostly by Uncle Sam.

In addition… we are finding our Constitutional Rights and our Religious Freedoms being CHALLENGED everyday by our own government and court system. The World, as we know it, is CHANGING.  I read, just today, where a small, family-owned Oregon BAKERY was judicially FORCED to design and bake a cake that had a THEME that was against their religious beliefs.  Whether than abandon their religious conviction…. They closed their business… and still may be subject to a $200K fine.

Many of us may be subjected to similar issues, and should be aware, prepared, and committed to our convictions.  Regardless of what we think, today….tomorrow will be bringing about CHANGE.  Romans 12:2 tells us: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Our people seem to “want change” such that violates the teachings of God, and in the long haul…God will not be mocked…God does not change.   Remember the people of Israel, who when fleeing Egypt, became very obstinate….and God punished them by walking them around the desert for 40 years.

We, as a people, best determine “what the will of God is,” and be PREPARED to DEFEND what we KNOW to be His WILL.  Zephaniah 3:19 says: “Behold, at that time I will deal with all your oppressors. And I will save the lame and gather the outcast, and I will change their shame into praise and renown in all the earth.”
