Can the BLIND man see? Does the blind man have ‘vision?’ Well, let’s see what we can see. There is the story about the blind man who was often, over the span of his adult life….”Can there be anything worse than losing your eye sight?” His reply… “Why YES, of course… losing your VISION.” And yes, Virginia…there is a difference.
Any person, who is blinded in DARKNESS…cannot see. This is a certifiable FACT. Due to some physical occurrence in their life…they live in darkness. For most of those who are blind…it is a life-long condition…. One, in which… they live with everyday…and, all day. There have been a few, in the time of Jesus, who were given their sight back… by the GRACE of God. Bible history is sprinkled with that throughout. And, I’m sure there are individual situations in current history, whereby “certain blind people” have had their vision restored… unexplainably. Was it a GIFT from God? Well…sure it was. Who can prove otherwise?
But the question posed, originally… can a one lose their VISION, and still see? And that answer is YES. And YES …I am ‘playing on words.’ I mean to say… a blind man, and a sighted person…BOTH, can …and do…have VISION. That is to say…the ability to have a ‘vision’ of something in the future. Example: They can see …in their minds eye… an old scrape of land that can be ‘transformed’ into a shopping mall, a school yard… or a church facility. One can have a “vision of prosperity,” or as Joseph did, when he had a vision of 7 years of prosperity, and then, 7 more years of famine…. Failing crops…no food for the hungry. Joseph was able to interpret the Kings dream, and therefore, was able to feed the Egyptians, and many others across the land, by storing up the crops.
We do this every day, in our world economy. We stockpile petroleum, oil products, goal, and certain food products that are storable. There are people who have enough ‘vision,’ or foresight…and even dreams… to speculate on the “futures.” This is ‘true’ rather they can see…or not see.
For a man, sighted…or not…to lose ‘his vision’ of what the future holds, for himself…or his family…, or put another way… his “sense-of-direction”… would be a bad situation to encounter. It would be ‘worse than losing one’s sight.’ It would be equitable to losing “hope for the future.” There is one area that we can set aside, and be ‘troubled no more.’ That would be our own…individual… SALVATION.
God, through the Crucifixion of His Son, and His subsequent… Resurrection…has guaranteed our Salvation. There is no kind… no amount… and no further effort… necessary…ever… that will CHANGE God’s Vision for us. Jesus died on the Cross for our Sins… shedding His Holy Blood for all of man-kind…. And on the third day, He arose from the dead, and sittith on the right-hand side of His Father, so that He might JUDGE, both the living and the dead.
Our SALVATION is guaranteed by our acceptance of Jesus Christ as Our Savior, and believing that He died for our sins… so that, we might have life-everlasting, with Him. Jesus purchased our soul, our sinful nature…with His Own Blood…. So that His VISION would be fulfilled.
John 3:14-16… Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.…
For once… I was blind…but, now I see…. Blessings…cjlb…4/5/2017
