“… In order to protect your own career path; try to avoid working with people that you don’t respect….”

From my perspective, Respect is an ABSOLUTE. Rather it be in terms of the business, personal, social, or Spiritual aspects of life; if you lack respect for even one of the participants, then you likely will compromise the overall project or assignment. I’m not suggesting that you totally avoid these types of situations, as they happen every day in our business and personal lives. And, it would be very difficult to avoid the realities of life. But, that doesn’t mean that if the opportunity is there to exercise a choice of not dealing with certain people for whom you lack respect, then, of course avoid them. Often times, as business leaders, we have the option of “selecting” those participants to the project; and sometimes, we are obligated to accept those that were assigned by others in senior management. In order to protect your own career path; try to avoid working with people that you don’t respect.   On those occasions that you have to work under those adverse condition, then it would be your obligation to develop your own skill-sets to overcome this type of divisive problem. We are also obligated to determine why we don’t respect certain people, in order to insure that we are not being unfair in our appraisal. It’s possible that we might be contributing to the root cause of disrespect.  Leviticus 19:15 – Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: [but] in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
