Making a DIFFERENCE in life: Here’s a thought….when you conduct yourself ‘differently’… then others will see you in a different light. When one ‘is different’… we often see what others may miss…..a gesture, an emotion, or feature…. all characteristics of what others may overlook. Many times, this will give you an edge in making ‘the deal’ work best for all concerned.
Do others view you as being different? Are you a person, or Leader, who ‘makes a difference’ in the lives of others? People whose ‘difference is obvious’ …standout, such that they can be the very person ‘who made a difference’… in the outcome of some important matter. It could be a new contract, the location of the new Church or business, the formation of a Citizens Committee… or the SPIRITURAL influence that ‘changed someone’s life’…. Forever.
My friend, and Evangelist…. Adrian Despres; conducts himself DIFFERENTLY … such that he has had a great INFLUENCE on my spiritual life, and that of many others. Not to mention that he stands 6’4”, weighs in at 275, and talks (or yells) louder than your typical speaker… he….STANDS-OUT… he’s different. It’s what he says; how he says it; and the emotion and CHARACTER that he puts behind it He has a ‘heart’ for Jesus! He STANDS-OUT for Jesus.
Adrian is the ‘very reason’ that you’re reading this message today. Because Adrian pointed out to me…so dramatically… that Matthew 28:18-19 was talking directly to me.
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
It was through the ‘difference’ that Adrian displayed ….that led me to realize… there is a Paul, and John the Baptizer… and Adrian Despres….somewhere inside… ALL of us, just waiting to escape. Those that are “different” should use that difference for the ‘honor and glory’ of God. I have discovered that opportunity to ‘be different’….for Jesus.
I know that I’m DIFFERENT… I like being different. I want to be DIFFERENT. I want to be NOTICED. I ‘want’ people to ‘see and hear the Word of God’… when they ENCOUNTER me. If you don’t detect God… somewhere… in my DEMEANOR… then, I’m not doing my job. I’m failing at my assignment.
Are you carrying yourself… such, that when people see, talk, or encounter you…. that they see God within you? God has given us all… the gift of being… different. “It is not just a matter of being different… it’s how we use that DIFFERENCE… that makes a DIFFERENCE”.
…Blessings…as we all, seek to ‘make a difference.’ … cjlb… 3/18/2018
