“…It’s something that I will not be apologizing about… not then, not now… not ever…”

20140906_152459 (2)During WWII… Winston Churchill said to the people of England: “All I can promise you is Blood, sweat & Tears.”  So it is in all other walks of life.   There are no free lunches… as anything worth doing… will involve plenty of “blood, sweat & tears.”

The less these characteristics show their face; then the less chance of success one would have, rather an individual, government, or national entity.  More on a personal level… Marriage:  A wonderful state of life; but one that takes equal doses of love, prayer, patience, humility, commitment, steadfastness, fidelity, loyalty, and forgiveness.

Career:  It takes all the same things as marriage, but in addition; it takes a strong sense of dare-devil-ness, risk, and often times…a killer instinct.

Social and community:  Involves, commitment, steadfastness, loyalty, caregiving, and dependability.

Then, lastly, we must realize that the road to Heaven is not an EASY road to navigate. If we truly Love… dedicated, and committed to God, then the street to heaven will be an aqua-duct filled with blood, sweat & tears.

When Jesus said; “Come follow me” … we all know what happened to Him.  He allowed Himself to be CRUCIFIED….so that we, each of us… might have “life-ever-lasting.” Just the other day, I attended an exotic car show, and went to one end of the show to the other looking at all kinds of automobiles. What struck me as ODD…was not one single person spoke to me.  From entry to exit…some 100 exhibits…not a single word. No invites, no-attempt-to-sell anything, no-smiles, no-nothing.  Were they really interested in selling cars?  Upon exiting the gate; I mentioned to several of the attendants what I just described here, and one of them offered me the explanation that… “They were scared of you…but you don’t scare me.”

I had, absolutely… no idea what he was referring to, and left the exhibition a bit confused.  Later, while driving across town… I thought about the fact that I wear a “cross” on the front of my Greek sailor cap, and also a “cross” on my coat lapel.  I NEVER think about this fact… but upon reflection; I think that these “signs of Christianity,” might be intimating to some…and seemingly to those at the car show. But, for me, it’s something that I will not be apologizing about… not then, not now… not ever.

John 15:20 tells us… Remember the words I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.   We are also told in Matthew 10:14-15… And if anyone will not welcome you or heed your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town. Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the Day of Judgment than for that town.…

So, the long and the short… if you want to follow The Lord, God, Jesus Christ… then, expect some degree of …. “Blood, Sweat, and Tears.”

…Blessings…cjlb… 11/10/16
